Swedish for immigrants
Medis arranges courses in Swedish for immigrants.
SFI – Courses in Swedish as Second Language full time
The courses are full-time. They are financed by the Åland regional government and applicants must be registered with the Labor Market and Study Services Agency on Åland (AMS).
The application is made to AMS
The courses at CERF level A1-B1.1 start in April, August and October if there are enough applicants. See the AMS website for current course starts.

SIA – Courses in Swedish as Second Language at Workplace
Medis tailors education for people who have moved in to work in collaboration with Åland workplaces on behalf of the Åland regional government. The courses at CERF level A1-C2 are arranged individually or in small groups partly during the participants' working hours and partly during their spare time.

SUAS YOUTH
Medis is launching a Swedish course for young newcomers
In the fall, Medis will open applications for young newcomers aged 15-22 to start their own Swedish for Immigrants (SFI) course.
The course content is designed to better meet the needs of young people regarding studies and life, and to create a foundation for future studies. The course is planned to start on October 28, 2024.
Participation in the course is free, and registration can be done here.
The course is funded by Ålands Landskapsregering and organized by Medborgarinstitutet in Mariehamn.
